Cloud AI is easy: you sign up and start typing, with nothing to buy or install. Because vendors run enormous data centers, their top models can be the most capable on the very hardest, most open-ended tasks, and they update constantly. If your work isn't sensitive and you want zero setup, cloud is a reasonable default. The costs are ongoing and your data leaves your control, but for casual use that may be an acceptable trade.
